The Sacramento Mineral Society is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to increasing interest and knowledge of mineralogy, its related sciences, and the lapidary arts. We promote and organize field trips to collect specimens, study geology, and learn about minerals as they occur in nature.
We also offer ongoing education, practice of lapidary techniques and the related arts.
We seek those interested in mineralogy, geology sciences, lapidary and appreciate rocks. We encourage an active junior membership and individuals who will carry our club into the future for years to come.
We award geological scholarships each year to individuals from local colleges.
Members volunteer their time throughout the year for community services, nature-related events and Gem Fair.
The Sacramento Mineral Society is a member of the California Federation of Mineralogical Societies, the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies, and the Co-Op Field Trip Chairman’s Association of Northern California.
